The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: black-tie picnic — formality on a blanket, built around tuxedo, champagne, silverware. Florals — white orchids and candelabra centrepieces on the lawn — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
Hanging a real crystal chandelier from a live oak for a seated silver-service dinner — the arborist and the electrician became friends.
The result
Black tie on picnic blankets photographed like a Vogue editorial; the chandelier under the oak is now our most-requested pin.
