The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: formal holiday dinner in forest and brass, built around forest, brass, candlelight. Florals — cedar, brunia, white ranunculus down a 16-foot runner — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
Twelve guests, twelve differently-tied velvet bows — because the hostess promised no two chairs would match.
The result
Guests photographed their own chairs before sitting; dinner conversation opened with bow comparisons, as planned.
