The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: suspended orchids over an all-white dinner, built around orchid white, silver mist, leaf. Florals — four hundred phalaenopsis stems suspended at varied heights — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
Four hundred suspended orchids double themselves in mirror tabletops — one crooked stem shows twice, so each was levelled by laser.
The result
The room read as a single held breath of white; her mother touched an orchid to check it was real.
