The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: skyline celebration for the night-school class, built around skyline gold, boardroom grey, midnight. Florals — brass bowls of white orchids along the rail — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
Everyone in this class earned the degree between 8 pm and midnight for three years — the party honestly had to start at 9.
The result
The espresso-martini cart poured sixty tributes to three years of late nights; the skyline did the decorating.
