The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: honeybee garden in butter and black, built around honey, comb, bee. Florals — craspedia, chamomile, honey-toned roses — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
Hexagon shelving that photographs straight-on had to assemble level on a sloping garden lawn — shims are couture too.
The result
The honey wall emptied jar by jar as guests left; the last jar went to the beekeeper who supplied them.
