The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: old-tree romance with hanging lanterns, built around banyan green, lantern, bark. Florals — white phalaenopsis wired into the aerial roots — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
Rigging lanterns in a protected banyan required an arborist on the team and knots the tree will never remember.
The result
The cello started as she noticed the initials; the canopy above glowed like held fireflies.
