The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: beach bonfire reveal at dusk, built around surf, dune, dusk pink. Every installation piece was pre-built and rehearsed in our studio.
The challenge
The dad-to-be revealed the colour by surfing in with a smoke canister — tide, wind and dusk gave us a nine-minute window.
The result
He caught the wave at 7:51 trailing blue smoke; the beach erupted louder than the surf.
