The preparation
Concept and palette were locked two weeks out: watermelon picnic in coral and mint, built around watermelon, mint, seed. Florals — coral spray roses and mint eucalyptus — were prepared in our studio the day before.
The challenge
The smash-cake moment needed perfect light at 4 pm — we oriented the whole layout around one sunbeam and a camera line.
The result
The cake-smash photos came back looking like a magazine ad, frosting and all.
